My Top 3 Priorities

  • Ensuring the wellness and safety of our students, teachers and staff on all school sites. As a teacher, I know the importance of building coalitions with first responder units and supportin mental/physical health services.
  • Support and expand alternative pathways to success such as the Career Technical Education/Regional Occupation Programs and Dual Enrollment. Students can gain a college experience with Dual enrollment and gain skills such as wood working/Auto/welding.
  • We must always involve teachers and families to help guide our students. I understand that transparency and communication is key to the student’s success and I will listen and work to build community with my leadership skills and an open heart.

Biography

I’m a teacher and dedicated to our student’s success. As a product of our public schools from

day one, graduating from Ocean View High, Mesa View Middle and College View Elementary, I

know what we must do to improve our student’s academic goals. We must close the

achievement gap, improve communication with families, and reduce student stress. I will

prioritize driving up student graduation rates, moving them on to colleges and technical

schools.

I currently teach Critical Thinking/Argumentative Writing, College Reading/Writing, and Business

Writing courses at Cerritos College. When I’m not in the classroom, I represent part-time

teachers on the Faculty Senate and serve as a Member of the Planning and Budget Committee,

overseeing funding for campus programs. These experiences have given me insight to the

struggles our local students face.
