My Top 3 Priorities

  • Address the proliferation of residential recovery facilities in Monarch Beach by supporting a city ordinance that preserves the residential characteristics of our neighborhoods. Promote community-based policing to combat illegal drug use and crime.
  • Re-establish the city’s Financial Review Committee to restore fiscal responsibility; Work to ensure that Dana Point lives within its means, and creates surpluses to support investments in enhanced parks, beautification efforts.
  • Support a Council initiative to develop a short-term rental ordinance that respects property rights, but protects our quality-of-life;

Experience

Biography

Joe Jaeger is a retired consumer products industry executive. During his 37 year career in corporate finance, he served as the Chief Financial Officer for a publicly-held corporation, and held several senior-level positions with other companies. Most recently, he served as Chief Operating Officer for Pacific World Corporation in Aliso Viejo. Joe is also a licensed realtor.

Joe has a BS in Business Management from Fairfield University. He earned his MBA from New York University, and also attended Harvard’s Program for Management Development.

The city of Dana Point has experienced net deficits in 9 of the past 10 years.  Joe knows his lifetime of experience in finance and budget management makes him best positioned to protect taxpayers, and bring new fiscal responsibility to City Hall. He previously served as a member of the City’s Financial Review Committee, where he made recommendations for improvements to the city’s budget and financial policies.

Joe and his wife of 21 years, Laraine, are longtime residents of the Monarch Beach Community, where he also serves as a neighborhood leader for his Homeowner’s Association. He enjoys playing tennis, bicycling, and his daily walk to Salt Creek Beach with Laraine and their two dogs.
