My Top 3 Priorities

  • Public Safety is my number one priority, due to state policies allowing criminals early release from jail. Have held Townhalls regularly to help residents & have increase police presence in neighborhoods, & instituted Protect Our Schools Initiative
  • Economic Development partnering with our local Chamber of Commerce and by working closely with Businesses to draw jobs and businesses to our city. Instituted Restaurant Week & Shop Local Programs. Will continue with proper planning to reduce red tape
  • Continue to ensure proper fiscal management and balanced budgets including paying down our pension liability without increasing taxes, while ensuring we continue prudent investment in our infrastructure and city amenities.

Profession:Businesswoman - Vice President
City Councilmember, Mission Viejo City Council — Elected position (2014–current)

My husband and I have raised our children in Mission Viejo.  My husband moved to Mission Viejo in 1972 with his family and we have owned our home for over 25 years.  Our kids attended our local public schools, where we have volunteered while both maintaining successful careers.  My husband owns his own small business and I serve as Vice President of a South OC based company where I have been for 25 years.  My love for our city coupled with our kids activities first led me to get involved in our community.  I have served as a classroom volunteer, then as member of the Mission Viejo High School Swim and Football Boosters, an active volunteer with the Nadadores, I enjoy the opportunity to make a difference in the live of our youth.

Through my experience as past chair of the South Orange County Economic Coalition and found member of the Mission Viejo Chamber of Commerce, I've worked to maintain a strong and vibrant local business climate.  Then serving as a member of our city's Community Services Commission, including one year as Chair, I've worked to ensure continued investment in and wise management of our city's rich recreational resources, including the renovation of the Marguerite Aquatics Complex, the Cultural Arts Center and construction of the Water Purification Facility supplying our Lake Mission Viejo.

I most recently and with honor served as Mayor and as Councilwoman the past four years.  I would be honored to continue to serve the city I love.

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

I believe elected leaders should focus on servant leadership and I approach my service to my community from that perspective. I believe in responsible fiscally conservative stewardship of our taxpayer's hard earned dollars.
