Profession:Currently Board President for Yorba Linda Water
Board President, Yorba Linda Water District Board — Elected position (2016–current)
President, KidWorks (nonprofit after school program Santa Ana) (2013–2014)
President, American Career Colleges (2005–2010)

Central Michigan University MA, Adult Education (2005)

I was elected 2 years ago as part of a successful campaign to recall 2 of the then current Board members.  In total, 4 of the 5 Board members were replaced in that election.  A key Board failure was a 250% increase in basic water rates.  The rate increase was based on fear and a failure to accurately create a new financial model to predict future revenues and costs.

I held a number of senior positions in nonprofit and education organizations.  I was the President of Kidworks, a nonprofit located in Santa Ana, with a mission to create a safe, educational and encouraging place for at-risk children using an after school program.  Before that I served as President of American Career Colleges (ACC) which, at the time I led it, had the largest LVN nursing training program in CA.  As President of ACC I oversaw a budget of $100 million, 5000 students and over 500 employees.  I have extensive management experience in a range of large American corporations.

I am currently retired. I have a Masters Degree in Adult Education from Central Michigan University and Bachelor of Arts from Long Beach State University.  I have a Life Teaching Credential for junior high and high school with specialties in Reading, Mathematics and History.

My professional career has been focused on helping individuals become better trained with employable skills and the support necessary to create a new direction in their lives.  I've used this same approach for the past 2 years as a Board Member for Yorba Linda Water District.  Yorba Linda Water District is currently the strongest it has been when evaluating:  Financial transparency, Financial strength and the delivery of clean, safe water to the citizens of Yorba Linda.

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

I believe that citizens of Yorba Linda deserve the very best customer service, water quality, effective water rates and operating and financial transparency from the Yorba Linda Water District (YLWD).  The District is staffed by men and women of skill, experience and integrity with a history of doing their very best for the YLWD rate payers.  My goal is to continue that excellence and extend it by studying the water challenges, issues and solutions for Yorba Linda, Orange County, Southern California, all of California and the Western third of the US.  These areas make up the integrated web that provides water to all of us.

The Water Board for YLWD is nonpartisan, as it should be.  The focus has been, is and needs to continue to be on the Board providing the best Strategic Plan, Vision and guidance that meets the needs of YLWD.  Over the past 2 years the Board has expanded financial reporting and transparency, improved the reserves and lending power of the District, expanded the $1 Billion worth of infrastructure with new wells, repairs to pipelines and the sewer system while insuring management succession, staff development, paying down pension liabilities while simultaneously providing fresh, clean safe water with 100% reliability.

I have worked hard over the last 2 years to be a trustworthy servant of Yorba Linda citizens.  I would appreciate your vote and continued support in this next election.
