By a unanimous vote of the SBBC Board, I was appointed to fill a vacany of Goleta's representative on the Boartd. If elected in November, I will complete the final two years of the prior Trustee's term.
I am a retired trial lawyer. I practised with the same law firm for 31 years. Prior to law school, I served in the Peace Corps, worked as a Congressional assistant, managed a U.S. Senate campaign and served as Deputy Assistant Secretary of Refugee Affairs the U.S. Department of State.
In 2015 I formed and led the Westside Goleta Coalition, which convinced the state not to build a CHP facility in a residential neighborhood. Last year I was appointed to the Goleta Planning Commission. Two years ago, I was elected president of my homeowners association. In recent years I have also actively supported campaigns in support of the local environment.
