My Top 3 Priorities

  • Proliferation of corporate-backed charter schools and their negative impact on publicly-funded “traditional” and alternative high schools
  • Budget concerns around cost of living in San Jose, school funding, and teacher and staff salaries and pay: Creation of Trustee/Neighborhood Areas
  • Low graduation rates, especially among members of marginalized groups

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

Respect. Equity. Inclusion.

Fundamentally, these are my tenets. My intention is to put my background (>20 teaching public non-charter high schools), education (Ph.D. in psychology, 4 Single-Subject Teaching Credentials, and National Board Certified Teacher), and energy (mother of students in the District, active member of non-profit boards, School Site Council, and San José City Library and Early Education Commissioner) to work for our kids.
