Biography

I have six years of experience of working at the District level. I served two years on the Citizens Advisory Committee on Finance (CACF), a long-standing Board committee, the last as its chair. I also served for four years as a member of the Los Altos School Board , this year as its President.

Before that:

  • I chaired my school's Technology Committee, and served on the District Technology Advisory Group
  • I served on on my school's Site Committee
  • I coached for both Little League baseball and AYSO soccer
  • I helped organize the first Gardner Bullis Science Fair and led the second.
  • And of course, I'm a member of my school's PTA

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

I believe that access to and the ability to enjoy a high quality education is a birthright of every child, no matter their zipcode, just as I believe that they have right to freely express themselves, the right to vote on a fair election for their leaders, the right to believe or not, and the right to be the moral equal of anyone else, and the right to be subject to the rule of law.

My overarching goal is for every child to achieve their potential, to flourish. School is where they learn the knowledge, skills, attitudes, and dispositions which will guide them throughout their life, and allow them to flourish.

It is the task of educators to do the best they can to make this happen.
