In 2013 - Common Core State Standards came out, new program 'SEAL'was brought in with a Grant, Chromebooks Phase 1, in 2014 LCAP came out with LCFF and new State Standards for testing, We expanded our popular AdVenture program, implemented SEAL, Chromebooks phase 2, in 2015 We implemented a new Two-Way Bilingual Immersion Program, Implemented new testing program in district with iReady, continued SEAL implementation at new schools while adding a grade at the others, Did a Master facility plan review, Finalized
Chromebook Technology, added District Wifi capabilities, in 2016 we reached a 3 year agreement with all bargaining units, started Saturday school to recover ADA and have kids not fall behind, created Social Services network and a budget committee, in 2017 we had to go through a school consolidation process and thanks to my followup of community and committee member concerns lead us to review and only close two schools, instead of three. We expanded our preschool program and avoided teacher layoffs. In 2018, so far we have expanded our Before and After School Programs (BASE), I advocated intensely for a Communications Officer or a marketing plan and our new Asst. Superintendent of Ed Instruction started a marketing program and will start expanding our Virtual Realtiy (Independent Study) Program with a continued expansion of AdVenture. We have given our teachers and staff a 15% increase in pay/HW over the past 4 years and in January of 2018 became part of a consortium for housing advocacy for teachers. I am supported by many teachers, staff, parents and administration because I am interested in looking for solutions to support all the wonderful things our teachers, staff and admin do with lower resources.
