My Top 3 Priorities

  • Traffic, Parking and Traffic Hazards. Innovate ways to increase thoroughfares, increase parking near businesses, and identify and propose safety upgrades.
  • Housing. Adhere to the General Plan and identify low impact areas for state required zonings and future development.
  • Keeping our Local Police. Work and maintain our town budget to meet the needs of our town police services.

Larry was born and raised in San Jose, and is third generation to this area.  Larry moved to Los Gatos in 2011, where he currently raises his 14 year old son who attends Fisher Middle School.  Larry is a very active community volunteer, and is currently one of the Commissioners for the Town of Los Gatos, Personnel Board.  He is the Current Commander of the American Legion, Post 99, located in Campbell, CA.  He is also a member of the 40 and 8, La Societe, where he holds the position of the Gard de la Porte (Sergeant at Arms), and has served on Boards for Pony Baseball League, Larry was awarded the President's Volunteer Service Award in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017.  Larry is an active member with the 730 Social Club in San Jose, which was founded in1938, and has served twice as Vice President. He is also a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, and the Loyal Order of Moose.


Larry graduated from Del Mar High School in San Jose. While attending Del Mar, Larry was very active with the Marching Band, Jazz Band, and athletic teams.  He was also an Explorer with the Campbell Police Department for several years, where he learned several aspects of Law Enforcement,


Larry attended West Valley College, studying Administration of Justice while employed by his father’s radio business, installing and repairing business and public safety radio systems.  In 1985, he earned his level two Reserve Police Certificate, and in 1986 joined the United States Army and California National Guard as a Military Policeman. He served both active duty and reserve duty, and has two National Defense Medals, along with several Commendation medals and Achievement Medals. Larry served Active Duty during Desert Shield and Desert Storm, and was one of the first Military Police Responders to the Los Angeles Riots in 1992.  He also received a commendation from Congressman Tom Lantos for being Soldier of the Year. He left the Military in 1996, and became a business owner for a Traffic Control company that provided traffic control operations at the San Francisco Airport during one of the Bart Expansion Projects.  His company also provided Funeral Escort details for local mortuaries in the South Bay. In 1998, the company was converted to a Security Operations company for special events in San Jose and Santa Cruz.  In 1998, Larry relocated to the City of Hollister, and in 1999 joined the Hollister Fire Department as a PCF Volunteer Firefighter.  Larry also went to work that year for Pacific Bell/ATT, and has been there for 19 years where he works in the Local Field Operations as a Senior Telecommunications Technician in the South Bay.


In his spare time, Larry Maggio enjoys going to Classic Car Shows, bicycling, hiking, and spending time with his family.

Political Philosophy

     With leadership experience and knowledge, I will positively influence the welfare and sustainability of Los Gatos and humbly ask for your vote. With a celebrated past and a great future ahead, my plan is to protect and preserve Los Gatos by putting the needs of residents first and helping to bring our community together.  It's time for a fresh new voice that will put our Town first. 

     As your Councilmember, I will focus on reducing traffic congestion and maintaining a safe environment for all.  I will insist on governing in a transparent manner, advocate for sound development decisions, and placing quality of life first. 

     I'm a lifetime resident of Santa Clara County and an 8-year resident of Los Gatos. Currently, I am serving the citizens of Los Gatos as Commissioner on the Personnel Board.  I’m also proud to serve as Commander for a Veterans Service Organization, a board member for a Veterans Memorial Foundation, and have managed and coached youth baseball for the last 8 years. I’m a Senior Technician for a telecommunications company for over 19 years.

     Los Gatos belongs to all of us and I commit to being your voice that is heard! Please support my candidacy for Town Council.
