Biography

For 49 years, Bob Nuñez has dedicated his life to public service, a journey derived from a desire to inspire effective change through collaboration and decisive action.

He now aims to lead his community as Mayor toward a higher quality of life for all residents, with a particular focus on affordable housing, the environment, economic development, education, and public safety.

Bob has a track record of building consensus and forging partnerships, achieved in part through his widespread community involvement. Although retired from education, he continues to regularly attend parent-teacher association meetings and serves extensively with county-wide commissions, nonprofit boards and social justice organizations. These posts currently include co-chair of the La Raza Roundtable de California, vice president of the San Jose/Silicon Valley NAACP.

One of his most significant contributions is the establishment in 2012 of the Nuñez Community Foundation, a 501(c)3 which gives foster and at-risk youth the skills to succeed through community programs and internships.
