As a lifelong resident, I have been fortunate to enjoy everything that makes Mountain View an extraordinary place to live: its history, diversity, inclusivity, and innovation. In the 1940s, my grandparents moved to Mountain View and were founding members of St. Athanasius Church. Growing up, I attended St. Joseph’s Elementary School in Mountain View and Bellarmine College Prep under a work grant program. I was then fortunate to receive Pell grants and academic scholarships enabling me to attend Santa Clara University.

In 2012, I joined the League of Women Voters, and in 2013 I was appointed to the Mountain View Human Relations Commission, on which I served as Chair twice. In 2017, I was appointed to the Mountain View Environmental Planning Commission. I am an active member of the Mountain View Coalition for Sustainable Planning, which advocates for environmentally sustainable, transit-oriented development and policies promoting affordable housing. I was appointed to serve on the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority (VTA) Citizens Advisory Committee/2000 Measure A Citizens Watchdog Committee, which makes policy recommendations to the VTA Board of Directors and reviews Measure A expenditures to ensure compliance with the intent of the voter-approved ballot measure. I volunteer in the League of Women Voters local government observation corps, and I am a member of the LWV Affordable Housing Committee.

I currently work as a Public Policy Analyst with the City of San Jose, where I focus on land use and transportation policy.

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

Mountain View has always been a diverse and inclusive community. I am running to ensure that my hometown remains accessible to all, including young professionals working hard to raise their families here and seniors on a fixed income seeking to age in place.

The housing crisis and severe traffic congestion continue to threaten the long-term stability and diversity of our community. I will champion sustainable land use policy, increased investment in transportation infrastructure, and jobs/housing balance. The swelling population of RV and other vehicle dwellers has made the intractable struggle of homelessness painfully conspicuous in our neighborhoods. I will work aggressively to implement a safe parking program, enhance homeless outreach and assistance, and provide appropriate enforcement of city laws.

I have ardently supported policies that increase affordable housing supply and improve the safety, reliability, and convenience of alternative modes of transportation. I successfully advocated for robust campaign finance disclosure requirements, and I will work relentlessly to expand opportunities for civic engagement and resident participation in critical decision-making.
