I have lived in Santa Clara with my wife, Daljit, a preschool teacher, for 23 years. My wife and I have raised two sons - the older one is graduate from Santa Clara University and the younger one is junior at Dartmouth College. As a small business owner in Santa Clara, city planning commissioner, and community activist, I am eager to get to work on the following issues for an even better Santa Clara for people like you and me and our generations to come:
· Building community engagement and putting residents first by informing, consulting, and involving residents
· Smart, balanced, controlled and collaboraitive growth to protect neighborhoods quality of life.
· Stand up to the developers who propose inappropriate high density housing which causes traffic congestion and displaces small businesses
· I will fight tirelessly for our working class through affordable housing and fair rent initiatives.
· An open, transparent, and informative local government
· Solving our growing traffic problem
· Making analytical fiscal decisions for our city
· Keeping Santa Clarans safe
· Investing in our youth and seniors
For my continued community service and engagement, I have been awarded with the following awards by elected officials and other organizations:
· Community Heroes Award from CA Senator Bob Wieckowski for 2017
· Community Heroes Award from CA Assemblymember Kansen Chu for 2018
· Character Award from Boy Scouts of America - Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council 2018
