My Top 3 Priorities

  • Accountability - I spent over 100 hours researching the Rancho pool's resources. It received $2.5 million in property taxes since 2013. Residents need to know how their money is being spent. Transparency needs to happen. Meetings need to be recorded.
  • Use my Finance background to serve my community - The board will benefit from my Finance experience. I found out the pool lost $122,500 from July to Aug 2018 - the busiest time. Yet it approved over $56,000 in raises for management since 2013.
  • Make sure community needs are fulfilled - The Rancho board decided not offer an aqua exercise class stating lack of resources. I will make sure the board allocates their resources wisely so that the community's needs can be met.

I am an Asian American who grew up in the Bay Area. Growing up, the recreation centers were important part of my upbringing. I used the rec centers to do diverse physical activities. I also believed they was an important social aspect to them. As a adult, I have used recreation centers to learn other activities such as dance and cooking. As a 14 year resident of the Rancho Rinconada neighborhood, I have used the Rancho Rec Center in particular for swimming with my nieces. Everyday, I walk on the trail and pass by the Rancho Rec Center. Over the past few months, I have been concerned over the lack of oversight that has been happening there. For example, the plants and foliage were not kept up then thousands of dollars were spent to replant it. I was told there was going to be an aqua exercise class taught there. Yet I was told this was cancelled to "lack of resources."

It's Time the Board Has New Representation

The Rancho Board needs new representation and ideas to better serve the current community.

As a 14 year resident of the Rancho neighborhood of Cupertino, I have seen the changing needs of the residents. I believe that the current board needs some new ideas to make sure that the residents, whether youth or senior, have programs to suit their needs. I believe my degree in Finance will help allocate the board's resources to help the board be more fiscally effiicient.
