My Top 3 Priorities

  • Strengthen substantially the involvement of parents in our schools.
  • Work to improve the process of attracting and keeping teachers in the district.
  • Ensure that the safety of our learning environments remains a top priority.

Experience

Biography

Cesar is a life-long resident of El Monte and a product of its school system; from Head Start to 12th grade.  After graduating from high school he went on to serve our country in the United States Marine Corps.  After his tour, Cesar went on to work in corporate America to eventually pursue a career in Real Estate.  He earned his Associate's Degree while in the Marine Corps and his Bachelor's Degree while working his corporate job.  He is now an active volunteer throughout the community and is a member of several organizations that promote and encourage higher learning for students as well as provide scholarships.  Cesar has a passion for literacy and believes we should encourage children to become life-long learners.

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

My political philosophy might not be classified as such, simply because I do not consider myself a politician.  My idealogy is simple; any person belonging to a certain 'group' should not reject an idea solely on the basis of it having been originated by an opposing 'group.'  For it very well might be that the particular idea in question could have the power to positively affect the lives of all groups combined.  Unfortunately this ego-based division has permeated every inch of the fabric which makes up this great society.  As a result it is affecting our children.  Children will follow our example, not or opinion.  So as adults, when we wonder why children seperate themselves into groups in school and end up being bullied, or being bullies themselves, or partaking in like activities, we have to remember that they are just following OUR example.  I am a realist and I realize that this division that was created so long ago will not go away.  But I strongly believe that if we can show our children that we are at least trying to keep an open mind to the idealogy of others, someday...maybe, we as 'politicians' will be better examples to our kids.
