My Top 3 Priorities

  • School Safety
  • Smaller Class Sizes
  • Parent involvement

Profession:Retired Juvenile Probation Officer
Group Supervisor, County or Los Angeles Probation Department (2007–2018)
North Park Band Committee Member, North Park Band — Appointed position (2014–2017)

Community Activities

Manager/Coach Pony Baseball, Whittier Pony Baseball (2016–current)
Manager/Coach Pony Baseball, Pico Rivera Pony Baseball (2013–2014)
Head Coach, Norwalk Raiders Pop Warner Football (2011–2013)

I grew up in Lincoln Heights Ca.  I moved to Pico Rivera 15yrs ago after marriage.  My Wife is a life long resident of this great City.

I dedicated the last 11yrs of my life working with at risk youth.  I see the importance, or lack of a quality education can have on a child.  That is why I decided to run for School Board.

Every single child deserves to go to school knowing that they're safe, have the proper tools to preform to their best capabilities and to have access to their Teacher should a question arise.

I am hoping that I get the opportunity to serve the Teachers, employees and students of the district to the absolute best of my abilities.

When it comes to our children's education, politics should never get in the way. No matter which political party you affiliate with.

Position Papers

School Safety

Why is School Safety so important?

Being a member of the Law Enforcement community, school Safety is of the utmost importance.  With the current state that our Country is in right now, School Safety has never been so important.

I would like to have more Sheriff involvement in our K-12 Schools.

I will do all that I can to ensure that proper security measures are taken for each School in the ERUSD.

Parent involvement

We need to do more when it comes to parent involvement.

  • Parent involvement is extremely important.  I feel that as a Parent, the School Board needs to do more to engage the Parents of the District.
  • The Board needs to notify each and every Parent of scheduled Board meeting and the special Board meetings.
  • The Aeries program has the capability of reaching out to each Parent through Phone calls, text messages and emails.
  • Parent involvement will only strengthen the bond between Educators, their Students and their Parents.

Smaller Class Sizes

  • Smaller class sizes
  • The importance of it
  • How do we do it?

Every election year, key words are used to gain votes and one of them is, Smaller Class Sizes.

Unfortunately, nothing has been done in ERUSD to move towards that goal.  I plan on making this a priority.  We can write grants in order to get the funding that this District so desperately needs.  Reach out to our Educators and Administrators to work towards this common goal.

Smaller Class sizes are needed so that each and every Student has the opportunity to get that "one on one" Time that they need to thrive.
