My Top 3 Priorities

  • STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics) and GATE (Gifted and Talented Education) at each and every school
  • Addressing the extreme classroom behavior problems with alternative educational settings.
  • Ensuring safety at our schools from outside entities and not tolerating bullies from within.

I am a parent of 5 Keppel students. I also worked for all six of the Keppel schools as a substitute teacher for 8 years. Currently I work as a high school Social Studies teacher and have been on the Keppel school board for five years. Thanks to my experience in education, I feel as though I have my finger on the pulse of all the stakeholders including employees, parents and students.

I am proud to be of service to the six Keppel schools but also to provide the vision for our schools that directly reflects what the community finds important.  My vision for our students' education is that we offer academics that will excite and challenge our students and prepare them for future success. We have implemented a well rounded curriculum in our schools that includes band, drama, sports teams, robotics and more.  I focus highly on students with special needs such as English learners and have spearheaded the hiring of more counselors, LVN's, Psychologists and Speech Therapists.  I am working tirelessly to improve the educational experience for our kids with safety and well-being my #1 priority.  With my unique perspective, I understand the needs of teachers. I value the essential role of support staff and appreciate vital parental involvement.

Education is fundamental to a thriving society and a healthy individual.  when a child learns something, he not only is adding a fact to his memory, but also becoming more confident, proud and worldly.  This is my tiny way of trying to make the world a better place for future generations.  I hope to continue serving my community as a Keppel board member.
