My Top 3 Priorities

  • Continue implementing the State initiatives for Student Success
  • Continue the exceptional cooperation with Morongo Unified School District for dual Enrollment for High School Students
  • Oversee a budget that is balanced and keeps a 10% Reserve

I am a life-long resident of 29 Palms.  I have a Master's Degree in Education, and taught at 29 Palms High school for 30 years.  I was elected to the 29 Palms City Council where I served eight years.  I was the Morogo Basin's first woman Mayer, serving in that capacity in 1933 and again in 1998.

Currently I am President of Copper Mountain College Board of Trustees, and I have served as a Trustee for 13 years.

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

Politically, I am a conservative.  I support local governmental decisions over State and Federal mandates that get passed down.  We are a small, rural college, and our needs and interests do not necessarily syncronize with those of larger institutions.  While I support any undoccumented student receiving all the educational opportunities all students receive, I oppose using our Educational dollars ofering legal counseling and sancuary for them.
