There are several reasons why I’m running. In short, I think it’s important to support teachers & students overall and be an accessible resource to them. Every decision should be driven by what’s best for our students & teachers. Some of the reasons I’m running are:
- Teachers & students need someone on their side.
- We need an accessible school board that listens. It shouldn’t be difficult to get in contact with our representatives. It shouldn’t be a hassle to be heard. We need to hear from you when you have something to say! If elected, I will make myself accessible to students, teachers, staff, parents, and community members. I will visit schools & classrooms regularly. I will welcome meetings. I will do my best to represent your voice. Submit your feedback now on what you’d like to see in our school district.
- Students need an entrepreneurial role model they can count on for support. I believe if students can relate to someone energetic, someone who has forged his own path, they will respond and be inspired to pursue their career interests. Just imagine a student body that is interested in engaging with the school district’s board? Imagine a board that welcomes students and is eager to be a resource for them?
- The next generation needs to step up. It’s time that a new generation with a fresh perspective become a voice in our communities; it’s time to continue the leadership that has been cultivated by the previous generation; it’s time to start the transition. I’d like to be a part of that next generation.
- At the end of the day, I’m invested in our community. I’ve taken steps as a full time homeowner in Arrowbear Lake, a local business owner, a chamber board member, and future parent to get involved in the Running Springs area and getting involved with the school board is that next step. I want to help build a successful school district that I’ll be glad to send my children to. There are problems and it’s time to start fixing them.
- Finally, it’s time to listen, understand, empathize, then ACT. I have spent time at the school board meetings. I remember vividly the outrage we all shared in this community during impasse. I recall local businesses with “This business supports Rim Teachers!” signs. I also have friends with children in the district and friends who have pulled their children out of the district. I’ve heard their concerns. I’ll say it again: It’s time to listen, understand, empathize, then ACT.
