Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

My name is Robert Hufnagel and I am running for School Board for the Central School District, Trustee Area Five, in Rancho Cucamonga.  I believe great communities start with great schools.  I want to ensure we have the best schools possible so that each child can grow and learn in their own special way and positively impact our community.

Our schools build the foundation for present and future generations.  Elementary education sets the tone for future success.  I know because I attended Central Elementary and Cucamonga Middle School as a child.  My fifth grade teacher inspired me to become an attorney, and I did.  Now, I want to give back to the School District that helped me to grow and learn.

I am personally invested in Central School District because my children attend these schools.  My two boys attend Ruth Musser Middle School, and my daughter attends transitional kindergarten at Coyote Canyon Elementary.

As your School Board Member, I will ensure that all children receive the best education.  I will focus on student achievement and individualized attention in a safe environment so that they can master the fundamentals necessary to succeed in high school and beyond.  I will always advocate for local control and maintaining our independent school district.

I want to ensure our schools spark creativity, instill confidence, encourage exercise, and integrate STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art + math) with our students.  To do so, we need quality facilities, improved access to technology, and expanded learning opportunities such as AVID, GATE, tutorials, and personalized attention to socioeconomically disadvantaged students.

I am a parent, attorney, professor, and community volunteer.  I believe in individual liberty, personal responsibilty, and empowerment through education.  I grew up in the Central School District, graduated Alta Loma High School in 1993, and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics at the University of California, Riverside in 1997.  I graduated from Southwestern University School of Law in 2000, and have been in private practice as an attorney ever since.

I bring a wealth of experience, problem-solving skills and leadership to navigate our schools through the next set of challenges.  I will ensure that our precious tax dollars are used efficiently and effectively, and focus on improved student achievement and test scores.

I currently serve on the Central School District’s Citizens Bond Oversight Committee.  I am also a Board Member of the Rancho Cucamonga Chamber of Commerce to promote a stronger local economy and enhance the quality of life in our city.

As your School Board Member, I will be a voice for students, a conduit for parents, and a supporter of teachers.  Please join me and vote Hufnagel for Central School Board on November 6, 2018.
