My Top 3 Priorities

  • Direct the use of recently won bond money
  • Push Sacramento for adequate funding
  • Encourage district stakeholders toward common goals

Raised in Camarillo.  Attended Pleasant Valley Elementary School, graduated from Camarillo High School and Harvey Mudd College.  Worked as a Software Engineer and Manager; and a Camarillo Business Owner (VCNet Inc.).  Married; have four children (all graduates of Rio Mesa High School and PVSD schools); and eight grandchildren (six attended PVSD schools).

Board member of the following:  Ventura County Healthcare Agency, Pleasant Valey Historical Society, Channel Islands Choral Association.  Past math volunteer at Los Primeros School (PVSD), and PV Historical Society Don (2007, named for extensive community service).

I've loved Camarillo all my life.  My parents were deeply community involved and Camarillo Persons of the Year.  My Dad was a soil conservationist working with Camarillo Farmers; and my Mom an early aide to the Chamber of Commerce and volunteer to the local symphony.

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

Pleasant Valley has been my school district since I entered kindergarten in September of 1953. I enjoy the challenges of being a Trustee of the District, and want to continue tackling the puzzles and complexities of making it the best district possible.

As state and federal financial supports dwindle, the Board, the administration, and the employees must all pull in the same direction. That is happening now, and there is a lot of mutual trust. I have been a visible trustee around the District, and the parents and district employees have come to trust and speak freely with me.

I would very much like to carry on the immensely important job of helping direct this District — especially with the upcoming bond disbursements and the opposing threat of a tightening state budget. PVSD has a 150 year history of offering a superb education. I’m asking for your vote to continue that tradition.
