For almost 20 years, Carina Armenta has dedicated herself to a career in public service, first as a senior policy advisor in Washington, DC for California Representatives Howard Berman and Hilda Solis and Senator Barbara Boxer, and later in Ventura County, as project manager for a women's health non-profit and then as District Director for Congresswoman Julia Brownley.


Throughout her two decades of public service, Carina has worked directly on the issues that are critically important to our community’s residents, including collaborating with key stakeholders at all levels of government to address local matters including safe and reliable utility infrastructure and services, traffic congestion, job creation, education, and healthcare.


Carina believes that with business and community partners, the City of Simi Valley can create a robust, competitive economy that supports businesses of all sizes, creates good-paying jobs, and strengthens opportunities for middle-class families.


Carina has the experience to face our community's economic challenges, move us forward, and be a good steward of your tax dollars.


Carina believes that government and its elected officials should be representative of their communities – and, good governance and transparency are tenets of that ideal. She also believes that our community deserves leadership that is working for all of its residents.


Carina wants to ensure that the City of Simi Valley continues to be a safe place to live, work, and enjoy a good quality of life for everyone.
