I grew up in Lincoln and even through the years that I lived away, it has always been my home.  I attended college at American River Junior College in Sacramento and then earned my B.A. in Social Studies with a teaching credential at Bethany University in Scotts Valley, CA.  I have been a professional educator since 1991 and I currently teach 8th grade U.S. History at Cooley Middle School.  I'm also an ordained minsiter and I serve at a local church in Lincoln.  I've been married for twenty-seven years and my husband teaches high school and is also a minister.  We have four children, three grown and one in high school.  My oldest two are in college. One is pursuing a career in film making and the other is working toward a Criminal Justice degree.  Our third child is currently serving in the United States Navy. The youngest is a junior at Lincoln High School.  I am a community board member for an organization called Mercy Mulitiplied.  It is a residence program that helps girls and young women find freedom from life controlling issues.  I've always been involved in community activities and volunteering in the schools.  I'm a public servant and I'm ready to serve Lincoln on the city council.

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

My first priority is to restore the voters confidence in the city council.  I will lead with transparency and sincerity.  My goal is to make decisions that will benefit the whole city, not special interest groups.  Citizens will be listened to and their concerns taken seriously.

I'm committed to transparency and accountability when it comes to fiscal responsibility. Decisions will be made and executed with honesty and integrity. The city's General Plan 2050 needs to be looked at carefully to ensure that proposed developments are in the best interest of the city and will pay for themselves.  I believe that we need to "live within our means."  I believe we can still do that and move into the future with positive expectations.

One of my top priorities is making sure we have adequate police and fire protection.  We have challenges before us, but I'm committed to working with our police and fire departments and city staff with budgeting to keep our community safe. We need to look at community efforts to reduce crime and promote safety, as well as law enforcement and fire fighting staffing. It's something that we need to work on together.

It's a priority to create a business friendly town.  Prosperous businesses create jobs and make great partners for community projects and a sense of family.  We have many shops and restaurants that make Lincoln great and I'll work to keep it that way.
