My Top 3 Priorities

  • Ensuring Long Term Fiscal Viability of the District , utilizing all means possible - e it installing fiscal policies and reserve accounts, to working to increase sources of revenue other than taxes
  • Working to create partnerships with the community to introduce new Recreational Opportunities for an ever changing demographic
  • Focusing on FUN! Continue to bring events, especially those that focus on family fun, music & finding ways for folks to gather and celebrate !

I have been serving as a local representitive to the ARD Board for quite some time,  I work to continuously grow and educate myself to bring all I can to the District.  My experience as a small business owner helps a lot, especially when it comes to oversite or operations at the district, be it human resources or fiscal policies.  I am proud of the variety of improvements I have taken the lead on bringing to the AUburn Rec District - These include Fiscal Policies that ensure planning, saving and addressing long term liabilities and known maintenance/rehabilitation & replacement needs,  Working to build the best possible "team" to serve the community, I was instrumental in putting in the current administrator and overseeing human resource policies that help recruit and maintain  quality staff (this is ALWAYS a challenge),  New facilities I have taken the lead on include both traditional (Playgrounds & Dog Parks) as well as more unique ones (Skate Parks, Pickle Ball, Bocce Ball..)  and of course the events I have created may bring me the most satisfaction, including Party in the Park, The Ain't Necessarily Dead Fest, THe Food Truck Fiesta & Community Festival,  I have also worked to support other ARD events  -  truly making the ARD the center of "Fun in the Foothills"  which happens to be ARD's Motto!

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

I am politically disfunctional - for sure a Fiscal Conservative, that understands the responsibility of being a steward of the public trust, and their hard earned money we are provided.  Beyond that I look at things issue by issue.  I am glad ARD is non-partisan, and try to avoid drama & politics, focusing on the mechanics of runing a public agency.  I feel that as representatives our job is more oversight than day to day operations,  we set policies and budgets and should overall allow the professional staff do their day to day job.  I also feel that listening to the community and keeping an open mind is critical,  I have found most people all are agreeable on most items I am involved with, there are just details that we need to work on to build consensus as best as possible
