Timothy Duane Shaw was born in Los Angeles. After graduating from Garey High School in Pomona, California, Tim attended community college, before transferring to San Diego State University in 1981. Tim has worked in public education for more than 30 years.
Education: Bachelor's Degree, Teaching Credential, and Master's Degree from San Diego State University, and taught elementary school in Pomona, middle school at Horace Mann Middle School, San Diego Unified School District, Counseling credential, University of California, San Diego (UCSD). Middle school counselor and for last 18 years has been a school counselor at Crawford High School.
In May of 2002, Tim was elected by the voter of Lemon Grove to serve as a member of the Lemon Grove School Board, and has been re-elected in 2006, 2010, and 2014.
Timothy Shaw has been an active member of the Bayview Baptist Church in San Diego since 1981, where he has been a Bible Teacher, served as Director of Christian Enrichment, an instructor and servant of the Usher Ministry, and is the ministry leader of the Education In-Reach.
Timothy has been married for more than 30 years to his wife, Toni, and have 3 daughters: Lisha, a 2013 graduate of California State University, Sacramento (Sac State), who is a Physical Eduation teacher for San Diego Unified School District. Daughter, Micah, a 2014 graduate of University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is presently attending dental school. Daughter, Kayla, a 2018 graduate of University of California, Irvine (UCI) and recently completed her certificate in Paralegal.
