My Top 3 Priorities

  • COMMUNICATION: Committed to open dialogue and creative problem solving. When there is open dialogue and a relationship of trust, hard decisions can be made to best serve our children and community.
  • TRANSPARENCY: Deliver a fresh perspective and diverse viewpoint. This means being creative and thoughtful, so that decisions and actions are made intentionally, understanding what the affect and ripples are of those outcomes.
  • ADVOCACY: I will always advocate to serve the best interest of our students and schools. I know how to read laws and regulations, interpretation, and precedent. I believe in persuasion based on fact rather than misinformation and speculation. At the

Political Beliefs

Political Philosophy

I have two children attending elementary school in Solana Beach schools.  I have volunteered in their classrooms for several years. I believe that we need to encourage parents to remain active and vested in our district, as well as ensuring that our teachers feel supported, and that our administrators carry out the best policies for all.  It really does take a village. I am running for a position on the Solana Beach School Board to support the Mission of the School District: “to provide a child-centered education of the highest quality[.]”   Solana Beach has a history of academic excellence coupled with supportive classroom environments. I want to not only maintain these traditions but help them to grow. I can bring a fresh perspective and diverse viewpoint. As one example, the Solana Beach School Board's efforts include how to deal with new families, enrollment, and population. I live in the Pacific Highlands Ranch area. I understand the logistical problems this area poses, including the traffic congestion and the multiple causes. I will examine solutions for existing challenges and develop strategies for the future. This means being created and thoughtful so that decisions and actions are made and taken intentionally, understanding what the affect and ripples are of those decisions. I would explore areas where we could improve and grow, but do not believe in change for the sake of change.  This requires open dialogue and creative problem solving to find the policies that best serve our children and community.

I have been endorsed by the Solana Beach Teachers Association and I would be honored to have your vote as a member of the Solana Beach School Board.
