My Top 3 Priorities

  • Maintain Poway as the SAFEST city in the county.
  • Continue to increase our Open Space (we are currently #1 in the county) while protecting private property rights.
  • Continue the revitalization and reimagining of Poway Road



Steve Vaus was elected Mayor of Poway in 2014. Prior to becoming Mayor, he served as a Councilmember from 2012 until 2014, and was Chair of Poway’s Budget Review Committee from 2010 to 2012.


In addition to serving as Mayor, Steve is Vice Chair of the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) Board of Directors. He also serves on the SANDAG Public Safety Committee.



Steve is a Grammy Award winning recording artist and has won numerous Emmy Awards. He has been a small business owner for over 30. Vaus Productions produces audio and video for television, motion pictures and advertising clients around the world
