Mis 3 prioridades principales

  • Continue to be the voice for the SLOW and SMART GROWTH policies that formed our award-winning town.
  • More QUALITY DRINKING WATER is needed. We should expand recycled water systems for irrigation to help “drought proof” Pleasanton.
  • Protect OPEN SPACE & RIDGELINES. Scenic hills and open space should be preserved for all to enjoy, not just a few.

Biografía

Karla Brown has been honored to serve as a Pleasanton City Councilmember for the past 4 years.  She serves on 10 local boards and committees representing the City of Pleasanton and its residents.  A partial list of these organizations is: Wheels Bus, Zone 7 water board liaison, financial audit committee, Alameda County Fair Board and more.  Many years ago, her family was looking for a small town with a friendly feel, great public schools, low crime and a high quality of life, they left Fremont to live and thrive in Pleasanton.  She is a 24 year resident of Pleasanton, having raised her 3 daughters in town, alongside her husband Tim Belcher.

In an effort to retain the best of Pleasanton, Karla stepped-up to become a citizen’s voice in hillside protections against the developer's plans for damaging mega-mansions on Pleasanton’s ridgetops.  She was part of a small committee that successfully battled power company PG&E when the company had plans to bury a large untested power cable on her street.  In addition, she was also a volunteer for her daughters at school; she coached RAGE soccer and helped to fund raise for the Valley Humane Society.

Her early career involved selling capital equipment to the Semiconductor and Rigid Disk Drive industries.  Exhausted by long commutes, air travel and too much time away from her family, she quit to work in Pleasanton and has never regretted it.

Karla Brown holds a business degree from San Jose State University and a Broker's license with the California Association of Realtors.  Karla is employed in Pleasanton at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServies, Drysdale Properties.

Filosofía política

Karla Brown's political philosophy is rooted in the value system of why she and her family moved to Pleasanton in the first place.  She wants all residents to enjoy a small family friendly town with a high quality of life.  She wants to live in a safe community where neighbors say hello and watch out for each other.  She wants to live in a community with fresh clean air, sufficient water supplies, quality schools and reasonable traffic on local and state roads.
