Summary

The statement piece covers her history of helping Antioch and what Rocha will continue to do as councilwoman.

For more than 40 years, I have served the Antioch community as Mayor, councilmember, school board trustee and advocate for families and children.

Crime is the No. 1 issue for residents. It’s vital we feel safe in our community.

We need to expand preventative programs, which support our police department and participate in Coffee with the Cops, Neighborhood Cleanups and Police Activities League, in addition to working with the school district to secure youth services.

Instead of lawsuits, let’s resolve issues in our city, build relationships and bring neighborhoods together. We need to foster community.

Let’s put a strong focus on code enforcement. To help fix the problem of blight, absentee landlords and bank-owned properties need to be cleaned up, ordinances reviewed and new rules implemented.

There also needs to be a focus on regional and water-based transportation efforts, which would improve economic viability.  Economic development on the riverfront areas should be a priority.

Also, our roads need work and traffic officers need to be back on the street. The city needs to fund the infrastructure that is so important to the quality of life for all of the citizens of Antioch.

As your councilmember, I’ll work hard on these issues and be available to our citizens.
