Mis 3 prioridades principales

  • Ensuring that every child is provided with what s/he needs to become college & career ready
  • Reducing the achievement gap and supporting more students through college-tracked coursework
  • Improving district-wide efficiency and fiscal responsibility so that we can better invest in staff

Indiana University School of Law -- Bloomington Juris Doctorate, Law (2005)

Jenni grew up in the Santa Rosa City Schools. She went to Brook Hill Elementary, Herbert Slater Junior High, and graduated from Montgomery High School in 1987.

After high school, she spent a year at the Santa Rosa Junior College and ultimately earned a B.S. in Biochemistry from UCLA.  Jenni graduated with honors from the Indiana University-Bloomington School of Law in 2005 where she led the school’s Lawyer’s Committee for Civil Rights Election Protection team, as served as an editor for the Federal Communications Law Journal.

Jenni works locally as a business litigation and transactional attorney with Krankemann Petersen LLP.  She is most proud of her recent work facilitating the conversion of the Palms Inn into permanent supportive housing for homeless veterans and vulnerable civilians.

Jenni was elected to the Santa Rosa City Schools Board of Education in November 2012. She currently serves as the Board Clerk and as a member of the TADCom and Facilities Subcommittees.

Jenni founded and serves as the Executive Director of the College Tee Project, a non-profit that aims to create a college-going culture for low-income and first generation students. Check out!

Jenni’s other community work includes serving as a member of the Santa Rosa Homeless Collective, on the Boys & Girls Club REACH advisory board, and as an Election Protection election-day legal volunteer.

Jenni formerly served as a UCLA Alumni Association Scholarship Committee member, and on the boards of the Sonoma County Family YMCA, Sonoma CASA, Sonoma County’s Partnering to Keep Kids in School task force, and the Sonoma County Public Library Foundation.

Before law school, Jenni coached swimming in Los Angeles at the high school and club level. Jenni coached the Los Angeles city champion swim team, Palisades High School. She started a swim team at Hamilton High School recruiting primarily at-risk inner city youth, and developed a nationally competitive club team at the Crescenta-Canada YMCA. She coached a number of nationally-ranked and All-American swimmers, many of whom moved on to swim competitively in college, one of whom competed for West Point, and another with the United States Air Force Academy.

While in Los Angeles, Jenni volunteered at the Santa Monica College tutoring center helping students with math and science, and as an adviser with YMCA Youth & Government, a hands-on program for high school students with the aim of building civic engagement.

In Jenni’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends & dog Maisy, cycling and running.

I am running for re-election to the Santa Rosa School Board! My first term was a period of significant changes and improvements in the operation of the Santa Rosa City Schools District. Working together, the board, teachers and staff accomplished so much!

  • Increased high school graduation rates and rates of English Learners reaching proficiency levels.
  • Passed essential financing to repair, improve and increase safety at our campuses.
  • Kept more kids in school and improved campus culture through implementation of restorative disciplinary practices.
  • Reduced suspensions by 50% and expulsions by 80%.
  • Increased and improved compensation, support and training for our teachers.
  • Showed our students the way after graduation with better college & career planning and resources.
  • Embraced bilingual education.
  • Focused on providing greater educational equity for all students.
  • Worked to create a more community-driven district and impactful strategic partnerships.
  • Improved fiscal accountability and efficiency.

I am proud of the changes we have made and am determined to see them fully implemented and maintained. I am running for re-election to see that happen, and for that I am asking your support.
