Preguntas de League of Women Voters of California Education Fund (1)

A recent law made major changes in the way that the state allocates funding to schools.  What will you do to ensure that the public understands your local control formula for school spending and your plan to measure outcomes?
Respuesta de Richard T. King:

Formula funding ensures that 4% would go to administration, and 85% would go to the classroom.

That is base on the input from all staff and the community.

The allocation funds from LCAP, identifying, staff, principal, teacher, and parents of the community how the district are going to spend this money.  That is base on the input from all staff and the community.

No child left behind:

Summary

What is your interpretation of No child left behind?  My interpretation is that when a student does not meet the standard that is mandated by the state, and the federal government in all subject matter, math, science, and English.

The reason noted the above is that I feel the district that I’m involved with do not meet these standards.  Why I identified this issue is have seen 26 students in the sixth grade was elevated to seventh grade, they should not have been promoted.  For this reason is that these students did not pay attention in class, the biggest part of them didn’t do the classroom assignments, same with their homework that was assign to them.

I help all these students in one way another, like help them in math, their writing skills.  I had show one pupil how to do the procedure to find the result in a long division; I even made an example.  But no avail this student did not apply self to solve a single problem.
