Biografía

Hi, I'm Adrian Fine, and I'm running for Palo Alto city council because I see so many opportunities for our city. We have incredible intellectual, economic, and historic resources. Born and raised in South Palo Alto, I currently rent with my fiancee in College Terrace, and we want to start our family here. A Gunn graduate, I received my MA in City Planning from the University of Pennsylvania, and returned home where I serve as Chair of the Planning & Transportation Commission, and work at Nextdoor.com building neighborhood communities across the country.

I have championed housing and rental options, smart parking management, unique local retail, and transportation solutions to reduce traffic. These investments benefit residents, our environment, economy, and social equity. As a Council Member I will protect neighborhoods, tackle our jobs-housing imbalance, and make Palo Alto work for current and future generations.

We can go even further by partnering with entrepreneurs, local governments, nonprofits, Stanford, and businesses. We are a world-class innovative community, and can manage change effectively. I commit to include different voices, perspectives, and ages, and I hope you'll join me to protect Palo Alto's fine legacy.

Filosofía política

I share the values of our community: innovation, protecting the environment, transparent and effective government, and inclusiveness. But most of all, I am always willing to listen, learn. I will make balanced decision that incorporate feedback from all parties.

Many of the problems we face - traffic, housing, and the cost of living - are regional problems, and must be solved by working with other local governments, the county, non-profits, and our business community.

Palo Alto needs to harness our innovative legacy to solve the big problems. We should use technology to address parking and traffic, explore new types of housing that serve a broad range of residents, and improve the delivery of city services.
