I have served on the Cupertino Sanitary District Board since 2001.  I have been the Board President four times and the District Secretary four times.  I spent about ten years on the accounting and finance committee.  I live on a farm in the district and have lots of first hand experience with pipes of various sorts and construction and maintenance.  I have been an accountant and auditor for thirty years.  I've volunteered for more programs than I care to list.  I enjoy dealing with the public as well as the business side of the District.  My college degree was in Environmental planning and Management and I enjoy the opportunity to put that training to use in conducting the District's business.

Filosofía política

The sanitation district is not a political entity.  The sanitation district is a service district.  Our job is to provide the district's customers with great service to protect their health as well as the health and well being of our environment.  We try to do that in the most cost-effective manner.  That doesn't always mean taking the low bidder on a project, but rather trying to consider the long term. We must also work with San Jose/Santa Clara since they own the Treatment Plant. We must work to try and get them to be as safe and fiscally efficient as they can be as well.
