Mis 3 prioridades principales

  • I've supported public safety and restored the Community Emergency Response Team- I will continue working to make our City even safer.
  • We've made a lot of progress on repairing our infrastructure, but I will continue to push for more funding until we can be proud of our roads again.
  • I will push to bring technology jobs to Torrance to fill the vacant Toyota campus and improve the City's revenues.

Filosofía política

I’m Tim Goodrich, Councilmember in Torrance, and I’m proud to be part of a Council that has taken on the tough challenges. I’m now running for re-election to prepare Torrance for the future.

Some of the issues I’ve worked on during the past four years include public safety, infrastructure, and transparency. Besides providing our police department with the tools they need to do their job and make Torrance the 10th safest mid-sized city in the US, I support the elimination of toxic Modified Hydrofluoric Acid from the refinery to make our City safer. Additionally, I’m proud to have restored our Community Emergency Response Team so that we’ll be prepared and better able to respond when disaster strikes.

On infrastructure, we’ve made great strides by repairing more than 4 miles of sidewalks and resurfacing more than 11 miles of streets, but I believe there’s still much more to be done and that’s why I will continue to advocate for more road funding until we can be proud of our streets again.

I’ve worked to bring transparency to City government and was the first Councilmember in Torrance history to use technology to maintain contact with residents through emailed newsletters and a constituent services website, which you can find at

Finally, I’ve supported measures that are important to our residents such as improvements to our Cultural Arts Center and implementing a Riviera vegetation ordinance that preserves views and property values.

All this has been done while balancing the budget and practicing fiscal prudence by pre-paying nearly $10 million of pension obligations, which will result in future savings.

In the next four years, my focus will be to attract technology companies to Torrance. I believe technology is the wave of the next generation and attracting these companies is important to not only fill our vacant Toyota campus, but also to bring jobs and increase tax revenues for the City. This will be a major undertaking and I’m going to need your involvement, but first I need your support to be re-elected.
