Biografía

I prosecuted misdemeanor and felony cases as a Deputy District Attorney in Imperial County. I have been in private practice since, handling family law, immigration law, administrative hearings, as well as DUI and criminal defense. I have volunteered and served as a Small Claims Court and Traffic Court referee. I served for nine years on the Board of Trustees of Imperial Valley College, representing the El Centro School District, an unpaid position. Despite economic hardships the college stayed within budget and not a single employee was ever let go! In addition, I served on the Imperial Irrigation District's Local Entity, established to determine the criteria for assisting all businesses impacted by fallowing.

In addition, I served as co-Chairman for Measure "G," the bond measure which passed and helped make safety upgrades for all nine elementary school campuses, including building the new Wilson Jr. High Gym.

Creencias poliza

Filosofía política

My reputation for having a judicial temperament, calm, professional demeanor, and preparation has been earned, both among my fellow attorneys and among judge. Ask my fellow attorneys, ask the judges. As an attorney, one is trained to see ALL sides of an issue. As a judge I will continue to apply this sense of fairness and openness, yet remain firm.

I remain committed to having every person have their say in court, to have their side and point of view respected and openly heard without prejudice or bias. I remain committed to deliver a fair and just and impartial decision, one based on the facts, not on any political or judicial "philosophy."

Every individual who appears before me--whether they win or lose--will walk away knowing they were heard, that the judge understood how they felt about their case, AND treated them with respect--as human beings who deserved their day in court. This attitude fosters respect not only for our courts but for the rule of law, our laws.
