In that capacity, he sat on the Executive Team, making decisions daily about the future of the business. Under his strategic leadership, revenue grew from $4 million annually (with 5% done online) to $30 million annually (with 85% done online). Preguntas y Respuestas

Preguntas de The League of Women Voters of California Education Fund and the League of Women Voters of Orange Coast (1)

According to a “Civility in America” survey, 75% of Americans believe that the U.S. has a major civility question. If you are elected what will you do to address this?
Respuesta de Michael Mahony:

I agree that there is an issue here. My plan to address this is to have an open door policy so that my constituents will have access to me on a regular basis. I believe by making my constituents undersatnd who I am and what I am about, they will feel more connected with their government and will act more civily towards their elected officials and each other.

Preguntas de The League of Women Voters of North Orange County (3)

What is at the heart of the immigration issue for you?
Respuesta de Michael Mahony:

I believe that criminal aliens should be handled howevrer the Federal governemtn wants them to be handled. If that is deportation, I am fine with that as long as they are truly criminals.

What do you think is contributing to homelessness right now?  What do you expect from your city, county, state, or federal government with regards to homelessness?
Respuesta de Michael Mahony:

Homelessness has many causes, bu thte main cause in Orange County is a lack of affordable housing and the fact that the cities do not cooperate with each other on this issue. I would like to see all 34 cities work together towards a solution to this problem that all cities can be happy with. I want to see more temporary housing and more permanent housing as well.

In 2017, the Orange County Board of Supervisors voted against conducting the vote center model for the 2018 election although authorized under the Voter's Choice Act.  If elected, would you support implementation of this law for Orange County beginning with the 2020 election; why or why not?
Respuesta de Michael Mahony:

I would support such a measure as it would likely increase voter turnout by making it easier to get to a polling place. In a time when people work a long distance from home, this type of plan would enable them to easily locate and visit a polling center in their home county.

Creencias poliza

Filosofía política

Michael Mahony believes in smaller government, spending money wisely and society taking care of its own. As a child growing up with only a single mother as his role model, Michael understands the struggles that face people in today's society. He feels that often times government overreaches when attemptig to care for its citizens. Michael does not think the government should always be the final answer to every social issue.

In a perfect world, charities would help with social issues. People would donate and that money would be used to help everyone who needs it. Thsi is especially important because the government's real role should be to protect the rights of its citizens and not to act like Big Brother.

Michael is fiscally conservative and socially liberal. He believes adults should be alloweed to decide what works best for them in their own lives without government intervention at every step of the way. He believes that people have rights and that as long as they don't step on the rights of others, they shoudl be allowed to proceed as they please.
