Filosofía política

I am a Democrat, focused on social justice for a strong community that promotes the democratic process.  I fully support Women's rights and have mentored young women for years, helping them maneuver through obstacles towards their success as Women in Business or Women in Public Service.  I am a strong advocate for chilren and have volunteered in the classroom and in other means to provide the needed support for teachers and educators so our students thrive.  I love our City and spend many weekends beautifying our parks, or clearing areas for so we can all enjoy this resource.

In everything  I do, I am guided by integrity and speaking the truth - both critical for the City Auditor, looking out for the Taxpayer and the Residents of our City.

This is a brief description of the work of the Oakland City Auditor, under the leadership of Brenda Roberts for the past 4 years.  She highlights the accomplishments:

  • Identified a $2 million funding shortfall for Kids First Fund
  • Found $2 million in uncollected Revenues
  • From our audit recommendation, increased funding for the City's Housing program, bringing in an additional $2.6 million in revenues each year.

Brenda always works in the framework of Integrity and Transparency.  Her goal is to bring about changes in the City to prevent errors, misuse of City resources and deter fraud and abuse.
