I’m the daughter of immigrants who found refuge in Chinatown, working in sewing factories and kitchens. They worked long hours to save and open a small family restaurant where my sisters and I helped on weekends. Through my family I learned about the value of working hard, not taking shortcuts, and the importance of lending a helping hand.

I carry these values as Assessor. I believe we need to ensure the doors remain open for those who come after us. That’s why I’ve focused on creating a strong financial foundation for our city and on transforming the Assessor’s office to deliver $3B in annual revenue for vital services like public education, affordable housing, and public safety. That’s also why I’ve initiated family wealth forums across the City to connect residents to the financial resources they need to be successful.
