Biografía

Jennifer is a Fullerton native, mom of 4 school aged children, and an active community volunteer. Jennifer attended Raymond Elementary, the GATE program at Acacia, Ladera Vista, and Troy High school. She received a double Bachelors concentration from UC Berkeley in Economics and in History in 2001. After working in economic consulting and international real estate development, she returned home to Fullerton in 2010 to raise her own 4 children with her husband Gary. Jennifer's 3 older children- Juliet, Audrey, and Finn- attend Acacia Elementary School, where she is a frequent volunteer and serves on numerous committees. Her youngest daughter Grace will begin kindergarten there next fall. Jennifer has served as a Board member of the School Site Council and the Acacia Foundation, chairs the annual jog-a-thon for Acacia, and is a member of the Acacia gala committee, Fall Festival committee, and PTA. She volunteers weekly in her children's classrooms and loves to collaborate with the innovative and dedicated teachers and staff. Jennifer also is a soccer coach for the Fullerton Rangers and is coaching 3 of her children this fall! It is her favorite fall activity. In her spare time, she loves historical fiction and memoirs, long distance running, yoga, and solo trips to the grocery store. Jennifer looks forward to bringing her expertise, knowledge, and passion to the Fullerton School Board to advocate for excellence in education and fiscal responsibility.

Parents deserve a voice

The School Board needs representation by a parent who has children enrolled in Fullerton’s K-8 schools. Without a parent perspective, there is a gap in first hand knowledge of what is happening inside our classrooms and on our campuses. We need to bring balance and diversity of thought to the Board of the Fullerton School District.

I am a Fullerton native, with 3 children in elementary school, and our 4th child will enter kindergarten next fall.  My family is personally invested in our schools for next 15 years, and I believe we can all work together to help our schools achieve excellence.

I believe in the power of public education and received a public education here in Fullerton's local public schools, as well as in my university experience at UC Berkeley. A strong public education system is vital to the strength of our community and our citizens.

I believe that innovation and fresh perspectives on the Board are necessary to continue moving our schools forward.

We need to maintain fiscal responsibility, balance our budget, and maximize the amount of every tax dollar going directly to the classroom. We also need to mitigate declining enrollment with innovative programming, and bring class size discussions back to the table. I also support an expansion of our early education programming and believe we need to expand our communication to at-risk communities within our city to address achievement gaps before they begin.
