Mis 3 prioridades principales

  • Streets: Fullerton's roads have been judged as the worst in Orange Councty, according to an OCTA analysis. We can do better.
  • Park Equity: While attention focusses on Hillcrest Park and buying Coyote Hills, parks in the Fifth District deteriorate. Th City's plan for Woodcrest Park has languished for 6 years, while our kids have only dead grass to play on.
  • Water: On April 13, 2018, the Sate Water Resources Board cited Fullerton's water for high coliform levels, and the City Council was not informed until August. We need accountability to assure water quality.

Filosofía política

The basic responsibility of City Government is to maintain physical infrastrcuture and assure public safety. In raods, parks and water, Fullerton's infrastrcuture in under severe strain. We can do better. Safe schools and neighborhoods must remain a top priority.

Water Quality

Summary

Water Quality

Providing safe and clean water is one of our City's highest priorities, with the City Council directly accountable. In December 2017, our water twice tested positive for high Coliform levels, and on April 13, 2018 Fullerton received a citation from the State Water Resources Board for violating the Safe Drinking Water Act. Yet, Water Dept. staff did not inform the City Council of this citation until its August 23 meeting.  We need better internal controls and communication to assure our drinking water is safe. Citations from the State are not acceptable.

Streets

Summary

Street Maintenance

The City of Fullerton is responsible for maintaining all public raods within its jurisdiction, Funds come from a number of sources, primarily state gas taxes and Orange County's Measure M sales tax. The City Council must do better at properly administrering these funds.

According to a 2018 OC Transportation Authority report, Fullerton's raod conditions are the poorest among all 43 cities in Orange County. Dead last. The decades of neglect are worst in the Fifth District. We can do better than least.

Parks

Summary

Park Equity and Maintenance

Relative to population, Fullerton's Fifth District has the least park space in the City. This must end, and maintenance must imrove. The City's plan to improve Woodcrst Park has had fist and starts for the past six years--meanwhile, our kids play on dead grass. Efforts to purchase Coyote Hills and improve Hillcrest Park will have little benefit for South Fullerton residents, who deserve their fair share for themselvs and their kids.
