Biografía

I’m from Ohio.  I joined the Navy right out of high school for 7 years as a Hospital Corpsman, including two years with the Marines in Okinawa.  I met my wife while stationed in Hawaii, was Honorably Discharged, and we settled in Orange County.  I finished my Bachelors of Science degree in IT, and have worked for a few tech startups.  We have two daughters in Saddleback Valley USD schools.  We go to Saddleback Church.  We’ve lived in the same condo in RSM since 2002, and plan to never sell it.

Filosofía política

My political philosophy can be described as being a liberal non-partisan.  Personally I’m fairly conservative, but public policy-wise I’m proud to be a classic Liberal in the sense of JFK (and FDR before him).  I’ve been blessed with a wealth of opportunity and good fortune in my life, and believe that government exists to ensure those vulnerable in society can be somewhat protected, but that everyone has a shot at being successful and contributing to society.

I’m not a big Party supporter on either side, and think the best legislative solutions come from bipartisan compromise, which it seems is harder to do these days, but is easier on the local level, and with elected officials who aren’t partisan hacks.

I’m running for City Council as a first-time Candidate because I see a need for greater representation in RSM from a larger segment of the residents who care about our City’s future and don’t see our current leadership being responsive to their perspective.

I think I’m very easy going and sensible, and look forward to collaborating with the rest of City Council to work towards good solutions and measures that move our City forward, and continue to provide for a high quality way of life that we now enjoy in RSM.
