Mis 3 prioridades principales

  • Turlock's public safety department levels are still at recession level salaries and staffing. Turlock needs to have a proactive approach to ensure that our public safety needs are satisfied now and for years to come with our rate of growth.
  • Having a family history of farmers and TID employees, I understand how precious our water is to our city and I will fight to protect it, conserve it, and encourage new ways of thinking about our water sources to avoid the measures of conservation we
  • we need to have proactive steadfast leadership to make sure we grow in a smart, safe, and productive manner while maintaining and repairing our current roads, structures, and public areas.

Biografía

Nicole's family has resided in the city of Turlock for 5 consecutive generations. Her great-grandparents founded one of the first businesses in Turlock that opened on Main Street in 1910 and operated until 1984. Her family also owned and operated one of the first dairies in the town. Her great-grandfather worked to build the Don Pedro Dam in the 1960s that still feeds valley farms to this day.

Nicole graduated with honors from Turlock's local university, Stanislaus State with a degree in legal studies. As a senior, she was awarded Criminal Justice Student of the Year and Student Leader of the Year. As an honors student, Nicole volunteered her time with refugee families residing in Turlock from Afghanistan. She worked with these families to assimilate to life in America as they fled persecution in their home countries.

Nicole was a member of the women's soccer team for 4 years, where she helped them become CCAA Champions and become one of the top 8 Division II women's soccer teams in the nation.

Throughout her entire college education, she dedicated herself to serving in student government. She was elected student body president for two consecutive terms. As President, Nicole also served as the Executive Officer of a not-for-profit organization, overseeing the budgeting and allocation of $1.2 million. She has met with state and federal elected representatives to lobby on behalf of the Central Valley's water and higher education needs.

While serving as student body president, Nicole organized acollaborative effort between Turlock's public transit system and the Stanislaus State Associated Students, Inc. (ASI). This effort resulted in a revitalized public transportation system that was more accessible for students and Turlock residents at large.

Nicole also partnered with the Turlock Downtown Property Owners Association to sponsor the annual event "Warriors Explore Downtown." This event connects students to the Turlock community and local businesses by allowing them to explore Turlock's historic downtown area and invest in the local economy.

In 2016, Nicole applied and was appointed by the city council to serve on the Parks, Arts, and Recreation Commission for the City of Turlock. In 2017, she was nominated and elected Vice-Chair of this commission. In her third year as a commissioner, Nicole continues a steadfast dedication to the promotion and fostering of programs for the enrichment of the city of Turlock as well as allocating funds for local projects.
