Mis 3 prioridades principales

  • Increase Public Safety presence to further ensure campus safety for our students.
  • Maintain fiscal accountability and a balanced budget; not sacrificing certificated or classified personnel.
  • Continue fostering vocational training courses and partner with the private business sector to assist students who elect to enter the workplace after high school.

Profesión:Public Information Officer
Public Information Officer, City of Barstow (2012–current)
Board Member, Hesperia Unified School District — Cargo elegido (2008–2012)

USC - University of Southern California Bachelor of Arts - Political Science, Pre-Law (1996)

Actividades comunitarias

Member, Volunteer, Barstow College Promise Committee; (2015–current)
Member, Olive Crest Foster Agency (2010–2013)
Member, Walden Family Services - Foster Care Agency (2001–2006)

I was born and raised in the State of California, having lived most of my life in the City of Yorba Linda. I graduated from the University of Southern California (USC) in 1996, while juggling various political internships and working in the film industry to pay my way through college.

I moved to San Bernardino County in 1998, and have lived in the High Desert City of Hesperia proudly serving as a foster parent for over 12 years.

Proud to call the desert my home, I have worked extensively in education, and eventually served in the capacity as School Board Member in Hesperia from 2008-2012. The nation's recession was deeply felt by so many of us, and during my time on the school board, I fought to keep campus safety and jobs a priority. I am proud to say we balanced a budget without layoffs, and our community was better because of those tough decisions.

I worked for the County of San Bernardino Board of Supervisors from 2004-2010; served on various non-profit committees to enhance children's issues throughout the County and State; and once again proudly served on the Hesperia Unified School Board from 2008-2012.

In my current capacity as Public Information Officer, I am proud to stand alongside our Public Safety (Fire & Police) Depts. as we look to make a difference in our community, while engaging our local and national media to provide transparent information to those we serve.

I have been working in my current position since 2012 and have enhanced the use of our local public access channel to provide our community with up to date information on various issues, worked alongside NASA and Goldstone to bring scientific exhibits to the historic Harvey House in Barstow, Ca.; and continue to remain active in our community efforts to increase college educational opportunities for underprivileged youth.

I would be honored to continue my time in public service as your next School Board Member for HUSD District 2.

Filosofía política

After the passing of my father at an early age, I grew up in a single parent home for most of my life. During the recession of the 1970’s, I saw my mother struggle through various part time jobs, but always making time for her son and instilling the importance of education.

I was determined to succeed in my life building on the foundations my mother gave me at an early age.

Having fostered many children over a decade of my life as a single parent, I understand the importance of being a role model and hoping to make a difference in a child’s life; but I know that the world will present obstacles that may seem insurmountable, but through boundless determination and perseverance, we can overcome those obstacles.

Every child has a special gift they possess that makes them unique to this world. I have been fortunate enough in my life to see so many of those children grow into adults and help shape the world they live in.

I would be honored to receive your trust and vote as your next Hesperia School Board Member for District 2, and work with you to make certain our children have the best education they deserve!
