Mis 3 prioridades principales

  • To achieve goals of ensuring above average service levels in water quality, delivery, and purification for not just the existing population but also for the expected growth in both residential and commercial water consumption.
  • Increasing transparency and community education of water issues and the related energy/environmental concerns associated with delivering, purifying, and sanitizing the water necessary for sustaining our community.
  • Increase community participation and engagement in protecting and conserving Chino Basin water resources.

Filosofía política

I welcome the opportunity to share my non political views in this section titled political philosophy.  I do this with just a bit of irony as during this process of attempting election to a board seat which is about oversight of utility operations the whole endeavor is geared toward political process and procedure!  I consider myself a lifelong learner always trying to better understand my world so that I can be a better, more informed, compassionate, and fair participant in the communities in which I live.  Through my journey I have desired to serve others but have not always felt that when given the opportunity that service made a difference.  I know that it has but not often in a way the fully utilizes who I am.

I do my best to be a good steward of what I have been blessed with which fundamentally includes the physical environment that sustains me.  I founded KYMS Consulting with this in mind.  Every day as I grow older my desire to contribute to sustaining what we have accomplished by way of the simple necessities, clean water, clean communities, open spaces, good air quality, abundant energy, connected resources, and strong education infrastructure has driven me to look for opportunities to be more engaged and participate.  Again the irony here is that what I aspire to is in fact for some a ‘political’ orientation because it asserts a common and social good that might be construed as ‘green’ or ‘democratic’, ‘left leaning’, or ‘independent’.  Fortunately I will simply acknowledge the shared ideas, the first step toward agreement and focus on improving outcomes for my legacy of three children and at present eight grandchildren, along with the rest of my fellow neighbors and citizens!

I am seeking election to the Inland Empire Utilities Agency (IEUA) Board of Directors representing Chino and Chino Hills.  Community service that maximizes a skill set that I have acquired in my lifetime underscores my non political views.   Consistent with my beliefs in shared stewardship and leadership in promoting sustainable communities through increased public education, compliance oversight, and promotion of both technical and financial best practices, I believe a first step is supporting and serving community where we can, with our strengths and time.  The IEUA seeks to provide the best in water services both consumption and wastewater treatment at a low cost and high quality.  Water is vital to sustaining communities.   I hope there will be many who share my views and will elect me this November 6 to IEUA Board Division 3.
