Mis 3 prioridades principales

  • COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT - More accessibility and transparency. Implement community leadership programs.
  • PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION - Expand routes and scheduling for public transportation and promote alternatives to driving (with an emphasis on making Camarillo walkable)
  • A PLACE FOR EVERYONE - First-class senior center. Family friendly attractions such as KidSTREAM and splash pads. Local entertainment and safe late night study options for students.

University of California, Berkeley Bachelor of Arts, Political Science (2010)

Bev Dransfeldt comes to the campaign for Camarillo’s City Council with an especially fine-tuned understanding of the arts and business worlds, as well the needs of families in all income levels.     Raised on a farm in a small town and working in the fields with her immigrant mother, Bev developed an unyielding work ethic from an early age. Much of her childhood was spent getting involved with the renowned youth development program 4-H, where she became a youth board member for the California 4-H Foundation and State Ambassador. She later put her industriousness to the test, working her way through college at the University of California, Berkeley. A combination of hard-earned scholarships, financial aid and five jobs helped pay the tuition, while her passion for music and government and focus on the work in front of her enabled her to earn a degree in Political Science.   Over the past decade, she has made a name for herself in the business world as a marketing manager, and more recently as an administrative clerk for the City of Thousand Oaks’ Cultural Affairs Department. She and her husband, Cory, a Camarillo native whose great-grandfather was the first Fire Chief in the Firehouse in Old Town Camarillo, knew that Camarillo would be the home for their growing family with their baby girl, PJ. “Every morning I wake up to the reason I am running for Camarillo’s City Council,” explains Bev. “As a new mother, I want to ensure that I am providing the best life for my daughter and every other child in our community. Creating an environment that invites young families to grow up here is a necessity.” One of her ideas for developing this welcoming environment is bringing in municipal broadband, which will provide Camarillo residents and business owners faster, cheaper internet service. With improved infrastructure in place, Bev plans to make Camarillo a tech hub, attracting tech-forward businesses. She is also laser-focused on creating opportunities for people to find proper housing. “I hear so many stories of young adults struggling to make it. People who were raised in Camarillo are being priced out or are unable to find housing that makes sense.”   Bev Dransfeldt is asking for your vote in November because she would like to be part of a City Council that is held accountable to our community. “I am doing this not just to ensure Camarillo is a great place for my family and my daughter, but for every family in our community. Now is the time for Camarillo to have a leader that works with everyone; A leader that encourages and welcomes engagement; A leader that values transparency and will expand accessibility.”
