Actividades comunitarias

Board Member, Lincoln Chamber Board (2001–2011)

Dan has been a part of the Lincoln community for more than 24 years. He first came to know the city through his work with Gladding, McBean, managing the sales and marketing of clay pipe, roof tile, raw clay and garden pottery. As a senior manager, Dan was responsible for establishing budgets for income and expenses for various products while also training and developing staff.

Right away, Dan was drawn to the charm of Lincoln, which then was considered a small, somewhat rural town. He knew the city had a bright future and wanted to give back. He became involved with the business community and served on the Lincoln Chamber Board of Directors for 10 years. He has served a total of 10 years on the planning commission, where he continues his service today as chair. His work was acknowledged in 2001 when he was presented with the Placer County Economic Development award for the improved functionality of the Chamber under his leadership.

Dan has been a sponsor of the Foundry, a Lincoln youth center that provides a safe space for students to go after school. As a longtime director of the Wolf Mountain Conference Center, member of the Art League of Lincoln and the local museum association and board member of the Community Christian School in Lincoln, Dan spends most of his free time working towards improving the community of Lincoln.

Dan graduated from John Swett High School in Crockett, CA and went to college in Southern California. While attending California Lutheran University, Dan earned a BA in Communications, and perhaps the best part of his college experience, it’s the place where he met his future wife, Jean.

Dan and Jean have now been married for nearly 50 years. They have two sons and twin granddaughters.

Filosofía política

Dan’s priorities includes ensuring Lincoln’s public safety, which is the foundation to a safe, family-friendly community. Lincoln is known and appreciated for its natural beauty. Dan has a passion for preserving its open space, which helps to foster a quality of life feeling that residents value. A proponent of neighborhood parks, Dan would like to see resources directed to the maintenance and care for Lincoln’s gathering space – our parks. He feels that this can be accomplished by continuing to implement Lincoln’s Comprehensive 50 Year General Plan. Dan will also direct his time making sure Lincoln’s economic development outlook is competitive and conducive to fostering a healthy business climate.
