Name: KEVIN MCCARTHY                                                            Age: 53
Occupation: Representative

I’m proud of my local roots. A fourth-generation Californian, I’ve lived in the Central Valley my entire life. I opened my small business in college - Kevin O’s Deli - building it from the ground up. I want to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

As your Congressman, I will continue to fight to strengthen our economy. I’m proud to have led the effort to pass tax reform for middle-class families. For the first time in a decade, wages are rising and more money is going back into American pocketbooks.

We must remain vigilant and reinvest in our national security, starting with strengthening our military. Earlierthis year, I voted for the largest defense funding increase in 15 years so we’re equipped to decisively address 21st Centurythreats our nation faces, from Russia and North Korea to ISIS and Iran. We must also continue to honorthe men and women who served by keeping our promise to veterans - reforming the VA and making care more convenient for veterans.

As your voice in Washington, I’m fighting to ensure our communities get the resources we need - including much-needed infrastructure funding for our dams, airports, and roads. Government should be held accountable with regulations and spending decisions, which is why I’m committed to maximizing water storage and pumping, opposing the state’s gas tax increase and stopping the high-speed rail boondoggle.

We must never stop holding government accountable. With your support, I’ll keep fighting to uphold our American values and defend our freedoms.
